Recently, the entire eastern portion of the United States have been having record breaking high temperatures. Since the beginning of the month, about 6,000 highs were broken. Six THOUSAND. Did we even have a spring? Here in the south, it feels like we went straight from a warm, spring-like winter...to summer! In Atlanta, they made it to 7 days in a ROW above 80 degrees. That beat the previous record set in 1908. In International Falls, they reached a record high of 79 degrees. The highest temperature ever recorded for March. So why such warm weather? Well recently, a strong High pressure has settled in the middle of the eastern half of the States. This has brought warm, south winds into most of the area and as a result, a very warm March. So if late winter/early spring is this warm, how will the summer be? only time will tell.
